Babar Azam was in anger after win in 2nd ODI

Pakistan and Afghanistan produced one of the most enthralling One-Day games in recent times, as the Men in Green won the 2nd ODI by one wicket on the penultimate ball of the match.

Afghanistan, batting first, learnt from their mistakes in the first ODI and put 300/5 on the board. In reply, Pakistan put up a good fight but looked out of the game, as they were eight wickets down after 48th over and required 27 runs to win with Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah present on the crease.

A good 49th over for Pakistan resulted in the Men in Green requiring just 11 off the final six. However, things turned sour when Fazalhaq Farooqi ran Shadab out at the non-striker’s end, which saw the Pakistani dug out fume in anger. Similar to Asia Cup 2022, Naseem Shah proved to be the difference between the two sides as he struck a boundary on the last ball of the over and the penultimate ball of the match to seal the win.

Despite the victory, an angry Babar Azam walked onto the pitch for a post-match handshake ritual. In the video, which went viral on social media platforms, Babar could be seen angrily shaking hands with Afghani players without making eye contact. The 28-year-old even confronted Mohammad Nabi, the senior player in the Afghanistan squad. Here is the video.

With the win, Pakistan also clinched the series 2-0 and would look for a whitewash.
