Arshdeep Singh is hogging all the limelight after he dropped a catch of Asif Ali in the 18th over of the Pakistan innings. Ali scored 16 off 8 balls and played a role in his team’s victory.
The young pacer was brutally trolled on social media, with some fans calling him a Khalistani, a term used for anti-national in India.
However, his parents were proud of his performance and said that had it been 13-14 runs to defend, their son would have won the game for India.
Speaking to a fan group, they sounded satisfied with Arshdeep’s display.
“He bowled well and could have won the game for his country had there been 13-14 runs to defend,” his mother said.
They also lauded the friendly atmosphere inside the Dubai International Stadium.
‘The atmosphere was friendly, and we enjoyed it. It is a game; one team will win, and the other will lose.”
