Michael Bracewell surprised former India player Mohammad Kaif with his sensational knock in the first ODI against the Men in Blue. He scored 140 off 78 balls, laced with 12 fours and 10 sixes.

Bracewell was the last man to be dismissed in NZ’s innings. The visitors were 131/6 at one stage but the southpaw along with Mitchell Santner (57) took the Kiwis close to India’s total of 349. In the end, India won the game by 12 runs to go 1-0 up in a three-match series.

“Michael Bracewell has power to hit big shots. He was sensational against all the bowlers. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Shubham Gill will remember his innings. He almost won the game for his team but Shardul Thakur took a gamble and delivered a perfect Yorker,” said Kaif.

Earlier, Shubman Gill slammed 208 off 149 balls. He smashed 19 fours and 9 sixes.
