Virat Kohli is one of the biggest brands in India, given he has 241 million followers on Instagram, which is the most for an Indian celebrity. Further, Virat is the highest-paid Indian athlete with revenue of ₹256.52 crores via ads.
For the past two years, Virat has topped Kroll’s Celebrity Brand Valuation Report for being India’s most valuable celebrity, but in the latest development, the former India skipper has lost his position to a famous Bollywood actor.
Kohli has returned to form with centuries in all three formats, but the last three-four years were not good for the 34-year-old, as Virat had to wait for a long time to score his 71st century.
Aviral Jain, Kroll’s managing director, revealed that due to Virat’s slump, he saw a 5% decline in his brand value which is why he lost the top spot in the report. Notably, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, with a brand value of 181.7 million dollars, displaced Virat Kohli from the top spot. Meanwhile, Virat is 2nd with a 176.9-million-dollar brand value.
Besides Virat, other cricketers on the list are MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, and Hardik Pandya. MS is 6th on the list with 80.3 million dollars. While, Sachin is eighth with 73.6 million dollars, and Hardik Pandya is on 19th position with 34.8 million dollars. Also, Anushka is 15th on the list with a brand value of 41.7 million dollars.
