Virat Kohli, who was not with the Indian team for two days due to a family emergency, has left Mumbai to be with the squad ahead of the opening game against Australia in Chennai.
Kohli left Guwahati to be with Anushka Sharma, who is expecting their second child. He didn’t travel to Thiruvananthapuram for the second warm-up game against the Netherlands.
However, his absence was not felt as the game was called off due to rain, pretty much like the previous game against England.
The right-hand batter will play a key role for the Men in Blue in the ICC tournament.
