Shubman Gill has been in magnificent form lately. He scored his third century in four innings. Gill and captain Rohit Sharma added 212 runs in just 26.1 overs and powered the home side to victory by 90 runs against New Zealand in the third ODI.
Gill was asked to pick between Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. “I will go with Virat bhai. I started playing cricket because of Sachin sir as my father was his huge fan. When he retired, I was too young to understand cricket. By the time I started learning about the game, I saw Virat bhai and learned a lot from him as a batter,” he said.
Shubman Gill was named the Player of the Series for scoring 360 runs in three matches against the Black Caps.
“It feels nice to perform througout the series. My approach didn’t change after hitting a double hundred in Hyderabad. It is about getting a start and converting every game if possible,” he added.
