Nitin Menon had a tough day as an umpire on the first day of the second Test between India and Australia in Indore.
Memon’s wrong decisions saved Rohit Sharma twice and declared Ravindra Jadeja out LBW when he had hit the ball with the bat.
The only right decision he made was against Virat Kohli. He was declared LBW on a score of 22. However, his ordinary umpiring invited fans’ anger, with some highlighting that he favoured Rohit while showing a biased attitude towards Kohli.
India were bowled out for 109 runs in the first innings, with Matthew Kuhnemann taking five wickets. Australia were 156/4 at the stumps on Day 1.
Usman Khawaja scored 60 for the visitors. For the hosts, Ravindra Jadje took all four wickets.
