Ross Taylor
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson made a timely return to form with an innings of 59 from 38 balls.

Former New Zealand cricketer Andre Adams feels that it is time to remove Kane Williamson from captaincy and let him concentrate on his batting.

Williamson is one of the greatest batters of the national team but he has struggled with injuries in the past few seasons and his form with the bat has also not been great.

Adams, as quoted by nzherald.co.nz, said that it would be better to have a new skipper. “He hasn’t scored the amount of runs you would expect from him,” Adams told Newstalk ZB’s Jason Pine from Australia.

“Everything changes with family and kids. The responsibility makes you a different person. I don’t think Kane will react if he is removed from his role as he will just do what is good for the team,” he said.

“The way Ross Taylor lost his captaincy was not good but it worked out well for his batting in the end. Tom Latham can be New Zealand’s new captain,” he added.
