Adam Gilchrist said that India should bring legendary cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni on board before the ICC World Cup 2023. The Men in Blue will take on Australia in a three-match ODI series.
Speaking to Sportstar, Gilchrist said Sachin and Dhoni should speak to the players. India are all set to win their third ODI World Cup when they host the global event in October and November.
“I don’t know how the Indian players feel. If I was in the set-up, I would get Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni on board to spend time with the players and pass on their experience,” he said.
He went on to say that Virat Kohli was not a big name when he won the World Cup with Team India in 2011 but should draw on that experience to help the team this edition.a
Kohli scored 35 runs off 49 balls as India defeated Sri Lanka in the final at the Wankhede stadium.
