Jasprit Bumrah Mohammed Siraj
Although Virat Kohli bagged the Player of the Series award, Siraj was lauded by leading cricket experts.

Former cricketer Wasim Jaffer heaped praise on Mohammed Siraj, saying he has not let India miss Jasprit Bumrah, who is out of the team due to a back problem. In the series against Sri Lanka, he took nine wickets in three games.

He started with a two-wicket haul in Assam and then added three at Eden Gardens. In the third and final game, the speedster dismissed 4 batters to lead India to a massive 317-run win. Although Virat Kohli bagged the Player of the Series award, Siraj was lauded by leading cricket experts.

“‘Siraj has made a lot of progress in white-ball cricket. He was always a gun bowler in the Test format, but how he has come up in limited-overs cricket is amazing. India didn’t miss Jasprit Bumrah because of Siraj’s presence as he took wickets with the new and old ball,” Jaffer was quoted as saying.

Jaffer also mentioned Umran Malik, who was not a part of the Playing XI in the last contest. The Jammu Express took 5 wickets at an economy rate of seven.

“Umran Malik was one of the positives. Even though he was a little expensive, he provided breakthroughs. He is very aggressive.”
