Suryakumar Yadav has been the world’s best batter in the shortest format of the game since making his debut for the Men in Blue. He has scored over 1100 runs in 2022 with the help of two centuries.
His recent 111 not out off 51 balls in the second T20I against New Zealand was one of the best knocks played by an Indian batter in the shortest format.
Daryl Mitchell, the Kiwi star batter, lauded the Indian player and made a big remark on his sensational ton.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, he said Surya is a class batter. “He is world-class, and I bowled to him in the IPL. I think that’s the best knock I have ever seen live in T20 cricket. He is in good form now, making things look easy,” he said.
India won the series 1-0, as two games were impacted by rain. While the opening T20I was called off, the third and final ended in a tie.
