Suryakumar Yadav has been named the ICC’s T20I Cricketer of the Year 2022 after sensational performances in the shortest format of the game. He is the No.1 ranked batter and has hit three hundreds in the slam-bang version so far.
The 32-year-old made his T20I debut against England in March 2021 and has become Team India’s backbone in the middle-order. He scored 57 off 31 balls against the visiting England side.
In 2022, SKY smashed 117 off just 55 balls in one of the matches in England. After three consecutive half-centuries against Australia and South Africa last year, he played in the ICC T20 World Cup Down Under.
The right-handed batter was the third highest run-scorer (239 in 6 matches) in the global tournament. He then went to New Zealand and hit 111 not ou. He started 2023 with a bang, smashing an unbeaten 112 against Sri Lanka.
