SKY became India's highest-rated T20I batter of al time

On Wednesday, February 1, ICC updated their weekly ranking charts and India’s Suryakumar Yadav, who continued his scintillating performance against New Zealand in the ongoing three-match T20I series, scripted history.

SKY, the world’s number one ranked T20I batter, surpassed Virat Kohli to attain the highest-ever ratings in T20Is by an Indian batter. In the latest update, Surya has 910 rating points, 13 more than Virat Kohli, whose career-best T20I rating is 897.

Further, Surya is just 5 points away from equalling Dawid Malan’s record of the best T20I rating of all time. SKY has played 47 matches and gathered 1651 runs. The 32-year-old recently became the fastest cricketer to reach 1500 runs in T20Is.

In the ongoing series against New Zealand, Yadav has gathered 73 runs in two matches and will be eyeing a big score in the 3rd and final match to surpass Malan’s record.

Further, KL Rahul, who is not a part of the series due to his marriage, slipped two spots and sat in the 25th position. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma suffered a one-rank slump in T20Is and is now ranked 28th worldwide.

The biggest setback was for Ishan Kishan, who dropped four spots to rank 45th in T20Is. In the bowlers’ department, Yuzvendra Chahal, who recently became India’s leading wicket-taker in T20Is, jumped a massive nine sports to rank 34th.
