Former India player Gautam Gambhir has backed Suryakumar Yadav after registering three successive golden ducks in one-day internationals. He was clean-bowled by Ashton Agar in the third and final game of the series.
After Virat Kohli’s dismissal, he came out to bat but was sent back to the Indian dressing room on his first ball. Fans brutally trolled SKY for his below-par batting display, but Gambhir refused to accept it.
“For me, he is not out of form. You can’t define a player based on just three matches. He has been sensational for the Men in Blue in the last one year, and that matters a lot. I know fans and cricket experts will write a lot about him, but until he doesn’t face 35 balls in a knock, it is not right to judge him,” said Gautam Gambhir.
In the first two games, he was undone by Mitchell Starc. Suryakumar hasn’t been comfortable in the 50-over format, and despite getting many chances, he is still struggling for runs.
Meanwhile, he is the number one batter in T20Is.
