The recently concluded T20I series between India and New Zealand was severely impacted by rain. Only one match was completed, while the first one had to be called off.
New Zealand batted 20 overs in the third and final contest, but a persistent downpour halted the Indian innings. The result was decided by the Duckworth & Lewis method, and the game ended as a tie, meaning the visitors took the series by 1-0.
Suryakumar Yadav, who hit an aggressive 111 runs off 51 balls in the second game, was named the Player of the Series. He scored 124 runs in two games against the Kiwis.
The number one batter in the ICC T20I Rankings for batters went past Virat Kohli and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the list of most T20I Player of the Series awards by Indians in a year.
It was SKY’s third, one more than Kohli and Kumar.
