The Men in Blue have had a brilliant start to 2023 as they won their 2nd consecutive T20I bilateral series after handing New Zealand a 168-run defeat in the series decider match in Ahmedabad.
India faced humiliation at the 2022 T20 World Cup, and one of the primary reasons behind their exit was the lack of good spin bowling. Yuzvendra Chahal was left out of the playing XI, while Ravi Bishnoi, who impressed everyone during IPL 2022 and Asia Cup, was left out of the international scheme of things without much clarity over his absence.
Similar to how Bishnoi rose the ranks after an impressive IPL, several IPL legends came together for a show to identify the next youngster who has the potential to be the next superstar.
RP Singh, Robin Uthappa, Pragyan Ojha, Suresh Raina, and Parthiv Patel came together for a Jio cinema show, where each legend revealed the players who will be the next-gen superstars.
Suresh Raina first took Arshdeep Singh’s name, who rose to fame after an impressive T20 World Cup and then mentioned Ravi Bishnoi’s name.
Raina spoke highly of Bishnoi and said the 22-year-old deserves recognition among bowlers. The former CSK star even compared Bishnoi to legendary spinner Rashid Khan and said that Bishnoi’s delivery time is the same as that of Rashid.
“Bishnoi’s way of delivering the ball is similar to Rashid Khan’s. He will become someone like him.” Ravi has played 10 T20Is and taken 16 wickets.
