Former India captain Sourav Ganguly is backing the Men in Blue ahead of their crucial match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup on Sunday, 28 August.

Speaking at an event in Kolkata, Ganguly said that Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul know how to perform in big matches.

“India vs Pakistan match is just another match. I didn’t take it as a special game in my career days. The pressure comes in knockout matches. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul know how to handle the pressure. India have only lost once between 1992 to 2022 against the Men in Green,” Ganguly told India Today.

Asked about the absence of Shaheen Afridi, the BCCI president said that the absence of one player hardly makes a difference.

“I don’t think one player can make a difference, and we also don’t have Jasprit Bumrah,” he said.

Ganguly called Hardik Pandya a brilliant addition to the squad. “It’s a brilliant addition to the team. Hardik is doing well for the team.” However, he refused to pick the winner between India and Pakistan.
