Shubman Gill has become the best India batter in the 50-over format. He scored more than 350 runs in a three-match ODI series against New Zealand and was named the Player of the Series.
He hit a double hundred in the first game, while smashed a magnificent century in the last ODI. The right-handed batter shared a partnership of more than 200 runs with captain Rohit Sharma in the third contest.
However, his father would be upset with him despite the best series of his career so far.
“My father wouldn’t be too happy about my hundred yesterday. He would’ve told me to carry on and get a big score again,” he said.
Meanwhile, India have become a No.1 side in this format of the game after winning three consecutive games against the Kiwis.
