Shubman Gill continued his dominance in the IPL, as the 23-year-old, touted as the prince of cricket, struck his season’s 3rd century.

In the ongoing second qualifier between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium, GT, batting first, put 233/3 on the board. Gill starred again with the bat as the right-hand opener struck 129(60), which included ten sixes and seven fours.

With the feat, Gill smashed the highest individual score in the playoffs, and surpassed Virender Sehwag’s feat. Notably, Sehwag scored 122 against CSK. Here is the list of the highest score in IPL playoffs.

  • 129 – Shubman Gill v Mumbai Indians*
  • 122 – Virender Sehwag v CSK

Further, besides scoring the highest individual score for Gujarat, Gill also scored the second-highest score by an Indian in IPL, only three runs behind KL Rahul. Here is the complete list.

With the knock, Gill took his runs tally to 851 runs, the third most in an IPL season behind Jos Buttler and Virat Kohli. Also, Gill is the second Indian after Virat to have more than 800 runs in a season.
