Shreyas Iyer vs BAN 2nd ODI
Iyer scored 82 off 102 balls, which included 6 fours and 3 sixes, in the second ODI against the Tigers.

The Men in Blue put a solid effort with the bat when they piled a target of 309 runs for the Windies to chase. Shikhar Dhawan struck 97, whereas his opening partner Shubman Gill amassed 64.

Contrary to England series, the top three for India were on point and Shreyas Iyer, who came to bat at one-down, struck a brilliant 54 off 57 before getting out after a brilliant catch by Nicholas Pooran.

The 27-year-old hit his tenth half-century in the ODIs. Meanwhile, he also surpassed KL Rahul and equalled former Indian star Navjot Singh Sidhu for a massive feat.

With his fifty, Iyer completed his 1000 runs figure in One Day Internationals. He took 25 innings to reach the feat and surpassed KL Rahul, who took 27 innings to complete his 1000 runs.

Further, he equalled Navjot Singh Sidhu, who also took the same number of innings to reach this figure.

Iyer has become the 2nd fastest Indian to complete 1000 runs in ODIs, the first position jointly held by Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan.

Both the players took 24 innings to reach their 1000-run tally in ODIs.

Iyer returned to the team in Virat Kohli’s absence. He was the Vice-captain of the team in Ravindra Jadeja’s absence, who is ruled out due to a knee niggle. The CSK star will also miss the 2nd ODI.
