Shreyas Iyer, the Indian batsman, has expressed his gratitude to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) staff for helping him recover from a back injury and make his comeback to the Indian cricket team.

Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer has shown deep gratitude to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) staff. He specifically thanked physiotherapist Nitin Patel and strength and conditioning coach Rajinikanth Sivagnanam for aiding his recovery and rehab journey.

Iyer suffered a major back injury in March and underwent surgery in the following month. As a result, he missed both IPL 2023 and India’s bilateral series.

After intensive rehab, Iyer played practice matches at the NCA to prepare for his comeback. He got his chance when India announced a 17-member squad for the 2023 Asia Cup.

Iyer expressed his appreciation on Instagram. He said, “It’s been a long journey, and I’m extremely grateful to those who supported me.” He specifically mentioned Nitin Patel, Rajinikanth Sivagnanam, and the entire NCA team for their tireless help. He wrote, “Thank you Nitin bhai, Rajini sir, and everyone at The NCA for your relentless assistance. Much love and many thanks 🙏.”

Nitin Patel has experience with the Indian men’s team, while Rajinikanth Sivagnanam was previously with the Delhi Capitals. They both played crucial roles in Iyer’s recovery. Sivagnanam helped Iyer overcome a shoulder injury before IPL 2021.
