Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has come out in support of the Kashmir Premier League. The tournament is played in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Almost all the big stars of Pakistan played in the league’s inaugural edition last year.
“Pakistan should support Kashmir Premier League because the cause behind it is big. As a peace ambassador, I would encourage BCCI to introduce a league in Jammu Kashmir, likewise KPL.”
Meanwhile, Shoaib had recently spoken about Virat Kohli, who is battling for form. The former India skipper has not scored a century in the last three years, and his performance in IPL 2022 was also below the mark.
Akhtar feels a player like Virat should be backed instead of slamming him for his poor display with the bat.
“He is the best player of the current generation, and former Indian players should back him instead of going after his performances. Virat has done a lot for India and will definitely score runs in the future. You can’t keep him out of form for long. I wish he listens to me and gives a befitting reply to critics by scoring centuries,” he had said.
