India and Pakistan played one of the best matches of their Asia Cup rivalry at the Dubai International Stadium. The game went to the last over, with Hardik Pandya hitting a six on the fourth ball to win the game for the Men in Blue.
Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya was the day’s hero, taking three wickets and amassing an unbeaten 33 off 17.
Former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar was not impressed with the quality of cricket shown by India and Pakistan.
Akhtar slammed both teams and claimed they tried their best to lose the game.
“Both India and Pakistan tried their best to lose the game. India would have succeeded if Hardik did not play the match-winning innings. If Rizwan plays run-a-ball, then what will happen to the Pakistan team? He played 19 dot balls in the first 6 overs,” said Akhtar.
Akhtar criticized the selection and questioned India for dropping Rishabh Pant. He criticized Pakistan for sending Iftikhar Ahmed to the number four position. He also made a radical suggestion that captain Babar shouldn’t play as an opener.
