Shikhar Dhawan has many tattoos on his body. He got some of them when he was a teenager. Dhawan had to hide a tattoo on his back from his family. However, apart from worrying about the reaction of his family members, he was concerned about being HIV positive.
Speaking on the show ‘Seedhi Baat’ on Aaj Tak, Dhawan opened up on the fear of the needle used for the tattoo being infected by an HIV-positive person.
“I was 14-15 years of age when I got a tattoo on my back in Manali. I had to hide it from my family for a few months. My father beat me when he came to know about it. I was also worried about the needle used for the tattoo being infected by an HIV-positive person. I went for an HIV Test. It came negative,” he said.
Dhawan will lead Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League 2023. He replaced Mayank Agarwal ahead of the 16th season.
