Virat Kohli again made his performance count in one-day internationals. The veteran of India national cricket team scored a fine hundred in the first ODI against Sri Lanka.

He scored 113 runs off 87 balls, including 12 fours and a six.

Kohli has amassed successive tons, with his 44th coming in the third and final ODI against Bangladesh.

He was dropped twice during his most recent knock as the Men in Blue scored 373/5 in 50 overs.

Former India players praised the 34-year-old for his superb display. Wasim Jaffer took to social media to salute Kohli.

“Sher ke muh khoon lag gaya hai. Is saal bohot shikar hone wale hai,” he wrote.

Virat, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, who were rested for the T20I series, made a return for the 50-over format series.

Earlier, the hosts thumped the Dasun Shanaka-led team by 2-1 in the T20Is.
