Shardul Thakur took three wickets and was named the Man of the Match for his effort. He went for a lot of runs in his first spell but returned to take two wickets in two balls to break New Zealand’s back.
He dismissed Daryl Mitchell and Tom Latham in the 26th over of the innings. He came back to get rid of Glenn Phillips in 28th over, which put Devon Conway under pressure.
Conway scored a century but the asking run-rate and fall of wickets from the other end resulted in his downfall.
The visitors lost the contest by 90 runs and suffered a clean sweep in a three-match series. Fans were pleased with Shardul’s performance.
Shubman Gill, who scored 366 runs, was named the Player of the Series.
