Shane Watson spoke on who the trump card for the Delhi Capitals will be.

South Africa won the first Test match against England by an innings and 12 runs. The win helped the Proteas enhance their top position at the World Test Championship table.

The Proteas are on top with a points percentage system (PCT) of 75%, while Australia is second with a PCT of 70%.

Former Australia player Shane Watson sat with Sanjana Ganesan to predict the two finalists for the WTC Finals.

“South Africa and Australia are the two teams who will be in the final for me. I see it hard for them not to make it,” said Watson.

Sri Lanka, India and Pakistan are on 3rd, 4th and 5th, respectively. Watson believes that India and Pakistan would come knocking down the door.

“I would be surprised if India or Pakistan doesn’t come knocking down the door. They have got several match winners.”

India have a PCT of 52.08%. They have six matches left, four at home against Australia and two away against Bangladesh.

If India manages to win all the Tests, the maximum they can reach is 68.5%. Thus, South Africa or Australia must drop points below 68.5 for India to qualify for the finals.

Watson expressed his sadness over missing out on a tournament like this. “I wish I could have played in the WTC. During my playing days, there were murmurs of WTC coming into play, but it took too long, and I missed it.”
