Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi, who was recently appointed as interim chief selector of the Pakistan national cricket team, could take on the role on a permanent basis after the three-match ODI series against New Zealand.
Shahid Afridi, Abdul Razzaq, Iftikhar Rao, and Haroon Rasheed replaced the previous selection committee headed by Ramiz Raja.
Afridi is thinking of becoming the permanent head of the selectors.
“Shahid Afridi took up the role on interim basis but with the Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup in 2023,
“There is a strong possibility that he will remain in his role. However, a plan will be chalked out to let him work for his foundation as well.”
PCB chairman Najam Sethi is satisfied with the work of the interim selection committee.
