Rishabh Pant has slammed all the critics out of the park, who questioned his place in the team. The southpaw smashed a sensational hundred in the fifth and final Test against England.
With India in trouble, he played one of the best knocks of his Test career. In his knock of 102, he hit 15 fours and a six. He became the first Indian player to accumulate 100 sixes at the age of 24 years in international cricket.
Pant surpassed Suresh Raina and Sachin Tendulkar.
Earlier, Ben Stokes won the toss and invited Jasprit Bumrah to bat first. Cheteshwar Pujara opened the innings with Shubman Gill but they failed. Hanuma Vihari, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer didn’t contribute much to the team’s total.
While James Anderson took 3 wickets, Matthew Potts dismissed two batters. The hosts are without Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul.
