India-Pakistan

Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has lambasted Babar Azam’s captaincy after bowlers failed miserably against England in the opening Test in Rawalpindi.

Kaneria pointed out that the bowlers were not rotated properly by Babar and placed the fielders in the wrong positions.

He urged the Pakistan Cricket Board to sack Babar and let him focus on his batting.

“Babar is not captaincy material. We have seen his poor performance in T20Is, ODIs and Test cricket. Sack him immediately and appoint someone else in his position,” said Kaneria.

Kaneria was disappointed after Pakistan failed to take advantage of the home conditions.

“You are playing in Pakistan and know the conditions well. Babar removed the slip when Haris Rauf was bowling. He scattered the fielders from the start.”
