South Africa’s limited-overs captain Temba Bavuma has broken his silence after going unsold at SA20 auction. The 32-year-old felt disappointed and said he was expecting to find a franchise in the new-formed league.

“I felt down when I went unsold in the auction. I would be lying if I say it didn’t impact me. I was expecting to get a franchise. Even my family is unhappy,” Bavuma said after going unsold at the auction.

Durban’s Super Giants, Joburg Super Kings, MI Cape Town, Paarl Royals, Pretoria Capitals, and Sunrisers Eastern Cape had bid for the players.

Tristan Stubbs was the most expensive buy with Sunrisers Eastern Cape paying 9.2 million South African Rand for his services.

Test captain Dean Elgar didn’t attarct any bid by the teams, and will not be a part of the first season.

South Africa’s head coach Mark Boucher has backed Temba Bavuma.
