Ruturaj Gaikwad equals Murali Vijay and Suresh Raina's record
Gaikwad's 92 runs came off 50 balls, including nine boundaries and four sixes.

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s impressive 92-run knock in the IPL 2023 opener against GT helped CSK post a challenging total and allowed the young batsman to equal the record for the most 90+ scores in IPL for Chennai Super Kings.

Gaikwad‘s 92 runs came off 50 balls, including nine boundaries and four sixes. It was a brilliant innings that showcased his range of strokes and ability to score quickly. But it was also his third 90+ score in IPL, which puts him in the same league as Murali Vijay and Suresh Raina, two of the most prolific batsmen for CSK in the history of the IPL.

Vijay, who played for CSK between 2009 and 2018, was one of the mainstays of the team’s batting line-up in the early years of the IPL. He scored three 90+ scores for the team, including a high score of 127 against Rajasthan Royals in 2010.

Conversely, Raina is the highest run-scorer for CSK in IPL history, having amassed 5,368 runs in 193 matches. He also has three 90+ scores to his name, including a high score of 100 not out against Kings XI Punjab in 2013.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, who debuted in IPL 2020, has already demonstrated great potential as a top-order batsman for CSK. In the previous season, he scored his first IPL century against RCB and added two more 90+ scores. His consistency and talent are reflected in his already equaled record for most 90+ scores in IPL for CSK.
