India captain Rohit Sharma’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh, was proud of his partner’s courageous effort in the second ODI against Bangladesh. He came out to bat at the No.9 spot despite being injured as the team needed important runs.
With India requiring 64 off 44, Sharma slammed an unbeaten 51 off 28, including five sixes and three boundaries. However, the Men in Blue fell short by 5 runs as the hosts won another ODI series against India at home.
“I love you, and I’m so proud of the man you are. To go out like that and do that,” she wrote on Instagram.
The 35-year-old was hit on the thumb while fielding during the Bangladesh innings. The incident happened when he dropped Anamul Haque at slips off Mohammed Siraj in the second over of the game. He was taken to a nearby hospital for scans by the team’s medical staff.
KL Rahul led the team in his absence, but his wrong tactics proved costly for the India team in the death overs as Mahmudullah, and Mehidy Hasan added 148 runs for the seventh wicket.
