MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma
Rohit equalled Dhoni's captaincy record after Asia Cup win

India beat Sri Lanka by ten wickets in the 2023 Asia Cup final and lifted their 8th title. It is Men in Blue’s first multi-nation tournament win since the 2018 Asia Cup, where also Rohit led the side.

Talking about Rohit Sharma, he was brilliant in this tournament as a captain, as under his leadership, India won four games in Asia Cup 2023. Further, it was Rohit’s 9th win as a skipper in ODI Asia Cup. With this feat, he equalled MS Dhoni’s record for most wins by an Indian captain in ODI Asia Cups.

MSD also has nine wins as a captain in the Continental Cup. Talking about the game, it was a one-sided affair as Sri Lanka, batting first, tumbled for just 50 runs, the lowest score in the history of the Asia Cup.

Mohammed Siraj was the player of the match for his six-wicket haul. Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill found it easy to chase down 51 runs, as the duo reached the target in just 5.1 overs.

Rohit had a great tournament as a batter also, but it was his 4th Asia Cup trophy and now all eyes would be on him for the ICC World Cup set to begin on October 5 in India.
