India and Pakistan will meet in the Asia Cup 2022 first time since the last year’s T20 World Cup. The Babar Azam-led side had thumped India by 10 wickets. Since then, India have changed their style of play, with Rohit Sharma replacing Virat Kohli as a captain.
While Pakistan are ahead of India when it comes to a head-to-head record, the Men in Blue hold an edge in the Asia Cup, with a 7-5 lead. Former Aussie skipper Ricky Ponting believes India will defeat Pakistan.
“I will go with India in the clash against Pakistan. I am not taking anything away from Pakistan because they are one of the best sides in international cricket,” said Ponting.
The two sides will meet on August 28 and are likely to play another match in Super 4s. India and Pakistan will also clash in the ICC T20 World Cup on October 23.
