Delhi Capitals (DC) have already kept a significant amount aside to sign Australian all-rounder Cameron Green for IPL 2022.
This was revealed by their head coach Rick Ponting during the first day of the opening Test between Australia and West Indies.
Ponting told Australia head coach Andrew McDonald that he wants to talk about the upcoming auction and ask if he knows Green’s availability for the league.
“I want to talk to you about Cameron Green, as we have kept a good amount of money at the Delhi Capitals this year,” said Ponting.
Green has given his name for the IPL 2023 auction and hopes that the exposure in India will help him become a better T20 player.
Meanwhile, the Capitals released four players and traded Shardul Thakur in exchange for Aman Khan from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Delhi have a remaining purse of Rs. 19.45 crore. In addition to the purse remaining from the previous auction and the value of the players released, the teams will have an additional Rs 5 crore to spend in the upcoming auction.
