Gautam Gambhir rest to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma
The two have been rested for the upcoming three-match T20I series with New Zealand.

Former India player and one of the leading commentators, Gautam Gambhir, has expressed dissatisfaction with the number of breaks given to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in international matches.

The two have been rested for the upcoming three-match T20I series with New Zealand. After that, however, they would play ODIs against the same opponents.

According to reports, the BCCI and selectors have decided to move away from the two veterans in the shortest format of the game, and they will not be considered for the T20I series in the future.

However, there has yet to be an official confirmation from the board.

Meanwhile, speaking before the third and final ODI between India and Sri Lanka, Gambhir said that the word rest should be removed from the dictionary of Indian cricket.

“Remove the word ‘rest’ from the dictionary of Indian cricket,” he said on Star Sports.
