Ravichandran Ashwin reflects on India's exit from the T20 World Cup

The Men in Blue crashed out of the ICC T20 World Cup after a 10-wicket humiliating defeat to England in the semi-final. After the defeat, players took to their social media handles and expressed their disappointment. A few also apologized to the Indian fans.

The latest to comment about the loss is legendary Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

Ashwin said that the fans are rightly disappointed as the team failed to live up to their expectations. He also urged everyone to move on.

“It was shattering for the fans to not see India win the tournament or reach the final. No excuse in the world can make you forget the defeat against England. It was disappointing. Having said that, we all need to move on.”

The 36-year-old defended India’s campaign and said one should not call it a poor run.

“We cannot call it a disappointing campaign. Reaching the semi-final or final of a tournament is an achievement. From a fan’s view, we failed them, and I understand their disappointment.”

In each match, the 36-year-old was under the scanner as the veteran got a nod ahead of Yuzvendra Chahal. However, Ashwin failed to make any impact and conceded more sixes by an Indian bowler in this campaign(8).
