Former Indian batter Sanjay Manjrekar reckons that all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will find it tough to get a place in the Playing XI for the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.

According to Manjrekar, Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya’s successful return to the team has made things tough for the all-rounder. Jadeja didn’t have a good IPL 2022 for the Chennai Super Kings and left the captaincy in the middle of the tournament.

He also missed a few games due to an injury. On the other hand, Pandya and Karthik were impressive in the T20I series against South Africa.

“Dinesh Karthik can bat at number 6 or 7. He is an impactful player who was at his best against South Africa and the IPL. So, it will not be easy for Jadeja to return and take his place, and India might play someone like Axar Patel.”

“The team also has Hardik Pandya. Rishabh Pant is also there, so it will not be easy for Jaddu. But knowing him, he will ensure that the headache doesn’t get less for the selectors.”
