Team India suffered a major setback ahead of its Super 4 campaign in the Asia Cup 2022 as Ravindra Jadeja sustained a right knee injury and was ruled out of the tournament. Axar Patel has replaced the all-rounder. The medical staff of the BCCI is monitoring Jadeja.
His replacement, Axar Patel, was one of the standbys and will join the team in Dubai. Jadeja played a crucial knock in India’s five-wicket win over Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium.
Jadeja had surpassed former pacer Irfan Pathan to become India’s highest wicket-taker in the tournament. The southpaw achieved the feat during the Men in Blue contest against Hong Kong. Jadeja has taken 23 wickets across six editions of the Asia Cup.
