Ravindra Jadeja sustained a right knee injury and was ruled out of the tournament.

Ravindra Jadeja has done well in batting, but he has been found wanting in the bowling department, sometimes in international cricket.

Former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar said Jadeja, the all-rounder, will have to show the selectors that he can replace Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik.

“If he is going to be a batting all-rounder, he has to show that he can be a perfect replacement for Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya in the batting order,” Manjrekar told Sports18.

Jadeja also faces tough competition from Axar Patel, who has a similar skill set. Axar, who has been a better bowler, has failed to show his class as a batter till the West tour, where he won an OD match single-handedly and also played important cameos throughout the ODI and T20I series.

Manjrekar said Jadeja would have to prove he is a better bowler than Axar to cement his place in white-ball cricket.
