Former India head coach Ravi Shastri was successful in bilateral series, but his track in the ICC tournaments was not impressive. He was a part of three global events but couldn’t motivate the team.
He recently spoke about his coaching tenure and revealed one defeat that hurts him the most.
“We had three opportunities to win an ICC Trophy but the defeat in the World Test Championship final hurts me the most. We should’ve at least drawn it, especially after beginning at 60 for no loss. That loss disappointed me no end,” he said.
Shastri’s tenure ended after the ICC T20 World Cup in the UAE. The Men in Blue were dumped out of the tournament after losing to Pakistan and New Zealand in the Super 12 stage.
