Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batter Kamran Akmal has been served a legal notice by Ramiz Raja for making defamatory and offensive comments.
A source close to Akmal confirmed that he got a notice from the legal department of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
“Kamran has received a legal notice but I am unaware of the charges. I think the chairman feels Kamran made defamatory, false and offensive comments about him ,” the source said.
More legal notices could be sent to some other former players for their false accusations.
“Some of them are crossing the line while criticising the team, management and PCB. Ramiz Raja has made it clear that he is not going to tolerate any nonsense,” the source said.
The legal team has been told to take strict action if any current and former player is found to be making defamatory, offensive, personal, false and damaging remarks.
Some former players were critical of the Pakistan lost to India and Zimbabwe in the ICC T20 World Cup.
