Rahul Dravid
Samit is a talented batsman who has already featured in the U-14 competitions in the past

Samit Dravid, the elder son of Team India’s head coach and cricket legend Rahul Dravid, has earned a spot in Karnataka’s 15-member squad for the highly-anticipated Vinoo Mankad Trophy 2023. This U-19 cricket tournament is scheduled to take place in Hyderabad from October 12 to October 20.

Impressively, Samit Dravid will be celebrating his 18th birthday just before this prestigious domestic event. While he has previously showcased his skills in U-14 competitions, this will be his maiden appearance in the U-19 age group.

Interestingly, cricket runs in the Dravid family as Rahul Dravid’s younger son, Anvay Dravid, also excels on the cricket pitch. Anvay serves as the captain of the Karnataka Under-14 team, following in the footsteps of his accomplished father.

Rahul Dravid, a cricket stalwart who represented Karnataka at the senior level, boasts an impressive cricketing journey that includes appearances in U-15, U-17, and U-19 levels as well. His Ranji Trophy debut for the state dates back to the 1991-92 season.

However, due to coaching commitments with Team India during the ongoing home ODI series against Australia, it’s likely that Rahul Dravid will miss witnessing his elder son’s performance in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. Nevertheless, fans eagerly await Samit Dravid’s arrival on the cricket field as he wields his bat in the name of Karnataka.
