On Saturday, India head coach Rahul Dravid refused to rule out Ravindra Jadeja from the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
Jadeja, who played two group matches at the Asia Cup 2022 against Pakistan and Hong Kong, was ruled out due to a knee injury.
When asked about the possibility of Jadeja missing the T20 World Cup, Dravid said there is still time for the global event Down Under.
“Jadeja has a knee injury, but there is still time left for the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia. So, we can’t rule him out of the event. I don’t want to make any comments as he is under the supervision of our medical team.”
According to the PTI news agency, Jadeja is likely to miss the T20 World Cup as he will be operated upon to fix his knee injury.
“His injury is very serious and requires surgery. Jadeja will be out for an indefinite period,” a senior BCCI official told PTI.
