Anil Kumble's stint as head coach at Punjab Kings ended after the franchise didn't renew his contract.

Punjab Kings are likely to sack head coach Anil Kumble after his failure to lead them to success in the Indian Premier League, according to Cricbuzz.

The former India player has a poor track record in the Indian Premier League, and despite spending a lot of money on the players in the mega auction, the team failed to reach the knockout stage in IPL 2022.

Eoin Morgan, Trevor Bayliss and one former India coach are in the fray to replace Kumble.

While Bayliss is a renowned coach, Morgan recently retired from international cricket. He went unsold in the auction before the last IPL season.

The Punjab-based franchise finished sixth with 7 wins and as many defeats in the 15th season of the tournament.

PBKS have been looking for their maiden title since the league’s inception in 2008 but have failed.
