Sapna Gill, arrested for attacking Prithvi Shaw, claimed before a court that Shaw hit her and even apologized.
The social media influencer was produced before a magistrate’s court and was sent to police custody till February 20.
The incident occurred outside a hotel where an argument broke out between the Indian cricketer and Gill. During the hearing in the court, she urged the judge to allow her to put her version of the story.
“Prithvi Shaw hit me on the chest and arms. They were eight to ten people, and we were just two,” Gill said.
Sapna further claimed that Shaw and his friends asked her not to file the complaint. Gill also refused that she had asked for a selfie with a cricketer. The influencer also denied the allegations that she asked for INR 50,000 to settle the case.
“Shaw was drunk and could have filed the case as he was in front of the Police station. Since he was drunk, he thought of doing that later,” Gill claimed.
Shaw’s friend and flatmate Ashish Yadav had lodged the complaint against Gill and her male friend.
Thakur and Gill approached Shaw for a selfie at the hotel, to which the cricketer agreed. However, when they wanted more, he refused. Gill and Thakur, who were in an inebriated condition, then started arguing with Shaw and even attacked their car when they came out of the hotel.
