Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt believes India will make a big mistake if they play KL Rahul as a wicket-keeper in the Test series against Australia.
Butt said that a regular keeper is a must in red-ball cricket. He also suggested that India could lose the match if Rahul is given the wicketkeeper’s gloves.
“You can’t have a part-time keeper in Test matches. It can cost India a game, and that game can result in the series’ defeat. It is not a smart idea to allow someone to keep wickets who is not a regular keeper,” he said.
With Rishabh Pant unavailable for the series, India will have to make changes. Ishan Kishan and KS Bharat are there in the squad.
Salman Butt further stated that Australia would give a tough fight to India in a four-match Test series.
