Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after the announcement of the 18-man squad for two-match series in Sri Lanka. Yasir Shah has been included in the side after almost a year’s absence.
Kaneria, who represented Pakistan in international cricket between 2000 and 2010, said that selectors are biased. He feels Sajid Khan should have been a part of the visiting team.
He raised a question mark on the selection of Haris Rauf and Sarfaraz Ahmed.
‘Selectors will never improve. Sajid Khan, Usman Qadir and Zahid Mahmood were unfairly treated. Ramiz Raja shouldn’t have approved the team. I’m not able to understand whether Babar (Azam) or (Mohammad) Wasim is selecting the team and picking up their friends,” said Kaneria.
“Selectors are destroying cricket in Pakistan. We need to make the team for the future, but the current selection committee is doing favours. Only those players are selected who give gifts to selectors. Hardworking and honest players are ignored,” he added.
