Hardik Pandya captaincy
The visitors scored 206/6 in 20 overs, and the hosts lost the contest by 16 runs.

Gautam Gambhir said that Hardik Pandya has done a good job as India’s national cricket team’s captain in T20Is, and he should not be judged after every match.

Hardik suffered his first defeat as a captain in the shortest format skipper in the second game of the series against Sri Lanka.

The visitors scored 206/6 in 20 overs, and the hosts lost the contest by 16 runs.

During a discussion on Star Sports, Gambhir was asked about his views on Hardik Pandya’s captaincy.

“He has been good as a captain, and you shouldn’t judge him after every game. Just because India lost the game doesn’t mean that he is bad. He can’t control the bowlers by not bowling no-balls. It is the responsibility of the bowlers,” he said.

The former captain said that Hardik has been calm despite having an aggressive approach.

“He has been the best among those who have led the side. He has an aggressive mindset. He is backing players. He keeps everything pretty relaxed,” he added.

However, Gambhir said that Gujarat Titans’ skipper still has a long way to go and will learn about captaincy.
